Butterball Turkey Fryer
Turkey
minutes and probably should have taken him out in 43 minutes. Amazing. Tender, moist, delicious!! Has lots of safety features and is very easy to work. Second year I have used it. You can also make lots of other things in it also.
Not only can it fry a turkey to juicy perfection, it can fry, steam, or boil many of your other favorite foods as well. -from hot wings and fried fish to corndogs and fries for the kids. You can also fill the fryer with water to steam or even boil your favorite dish. Other options include inviting the whole family over for a large low-country boil, steaming fresh crab legs for two, or even trying your hand at frying desserts like doughnuts, apple turnovers, and fried ice cream.
Safely remove oil by draining it from here.
This goes on the drain to make it really easy to drain
You can use oil 5 or 6 more times so drain right back into container it came out of.
Your cord fits in here also for storage
This is all one piece and has to be put in
right for it to work at all
It slides down the front and right into the bottom
It is best to use peanut oil
For the turkey, it takes 2 gallons. Fill only
to bottom of max line. Never above.
Turn to 375 degrees
Heat oil. Takes about 25 minutes to bring it to 375 degrees.
Light will come on when temperature is ready
Open turkey
Remove neck for one end
Remove giblets from other end
Put in warm bath for at least 30 minutes to bring whole turkey to
same temperature. It also ensures there is no ice deep inside.
Remove from water and pat dry with paper towels.
I like to use Tony Chachere's Creole Style Butter marinade.
I didn't think I would like it because I don't like anything spicy
but this stuff gives great flavor without the spice. Yum!!
It also come with the needle to fill the turkey with.
Put about a third of this in one spot and move to another.
I use alot of this.
When one side is finished, turn him over and do the other side.
Be sure and get the wings, thighs, and legs.
Don, my assistant to drop the turkey in the oil
Really plumped my bird full
Put turkey in basket, breast side UP
Set basket in hooks before you drop him in.
This is the MOST IMPORTANT part.
Lower your turkey VERY VERY SLOWLY into the oil.
It will keep down the splash. You should wear gloves to do this. We use the silicone gloves as the splash can't get through them.
When time is up, take your turkey out
with the hook that comes with the fryer.
Be sure and tilt your bird both directions
to let the oil pour out of the inside.
Set basket in hooks on side and let turkey rest for about 15 minutes.
Enjoy!!
The turkey comes out very moist and tender. Great taste. If your oil is at right temperature when you drop turkey, the oil does not soak into the turkey. Yum! Yum! Yum!
