Smoked Cedar Plank Salmon Review!

Smoked Cedar Plank Salmon
This is a really good way to smoke salmon. It was moist and flaky. Do not overcook this, as it will

be dry if cooked to long. It had really good flavor.  I would make this again.

Ingredients:
I used Wild Caught Salmon

Soak cedar planks in hot water for at least an hour
(Mine soaked for several hours)

I put a bacon press on them to hold them down.

Put all ingredients in bowl

Mix well

Pour  marinade over salmon

Turn salmon over 2 or 3 times then

Cover and let marinade for 15 min to an hour
(I let mine marinade for a little over an hour)

 Put Salmon on planks

Put in smoker at 225 for about
30-40 minutes.  You want it to be about 125 degrees in the middle
Do not overcook or it will be dry inside

Recipe:

3 (12 inch) untreated cedar planks

1/3 cup vegetable oil

1 1/2 tablespoons rice vinegar

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1/3 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup chopped green onions

1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger root

1 teaspoon minced garlic

2 (2 pound) salmon fillets, skin removed

Directions
Soak the cedar planks for at least 1 hour in warm water. Soak longer if you have time.
In a shallow dish, stir together the vegetable oil, rice vinegar, sesame oil, soy sauce, green onions, ginger, and garlic. Place the salmon fillets in the marinade and turn to coat. Cover and marinate for at least 15 minutes, or up to one hour.

Lay planks  with salmon on the smoker   Cook for twenty five to thirty minutes, depending on thickness. Before you pull off the grill, make sure the internal temperature of the salmon has reached 125 degrees.
Let salmon rest for five minutes after taking off the grill then slice and serve

Put it with Smoked vegetables. Delicious.

Enjoy!
