Slow Cooked Sesame Chicken Review!

Slow Cooker Sesame Chicken

I have to say, while this was cooking in the crock pot, my kitchen couldn't have smelled any better. I loved that part of it. Might even cook the mixture without the chicken just for the smell. But as far as the Sesame

Chicken taste, I didn't like anything at all about it. The only reason I am giving this 3 stars is for the great smell, and Don thought it was ok. Would never make this dish again. Did not like the brown rice either. It really needed
doctored up.

Recipe:

3 Large Chicken Breasts
1/2 Onion, Diced
2 Tablespoons of Minced Garlic
6 Tablespoons of Honey
4 Tablespoons of Tomato Sauce
1/2 Cup of Low-Sodium Soy Sauce
2 Tablespoons of Sesame Oil
Dash of Red Pepper flakes
4 Tablespoons of Cornstarch
1/3 Cup of Water
Salt and Pepper
1 Cup of Broccoli Florets
1/3 Cup of Shredded Carrots
Brown Rice
Sesame Seeds and Green Onion for Topping

Trim off any excess fat from your chicken breasts and lay them on the bottom of your crock pot.  Next you will want to make your sauce.  Mix together your onion, garlic, honey, tomato sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil and red pepper flakes in a bowl.
Pour your mixture over your chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
Cook your chicken on low for 3 to 4 hours or on high for 2 hours.  Once it is done and the juices in it run clear, remove your chicken from the crock pot and shred it using two large forks.
Once your chicken is ready set is aside.  Mix together your water and cornstarch and whisk it until it is will combined.  Then slowly mix it into the sauce that is left in your slow cooker.
One the liquids are combined well in your slow cooker, add back in your shredded chicken as well as your {raw} broccoli and carrots.  Stir well to ensure that your sauce coats everything and then continue cooking on high for 20 minutes.  This allows your veggies to soften and the sauce to thicken.
While you are waiting for your chicken to finish cooking, make your rice.  If you time it out right, everything will be ready at the same time!  Serve your Sesame Chicken on a bed of brown rice and top it with Sesame Seed and diced green onions.

Enjoy!
