We have a side yard
where Sammy would go but he got to where he
wouldn't go without one of us going with him. So we put him a night light out and that helped.
That worked for awhile, then one night, he refused to go out without us again. I think he encountered a raccoon,
or something one night. Even with his light, he wouldn't go without us.
Sooo, I decided maybe we needed to give him a new area with his light,
which meant putting a doggy door through the wall, picking up a bunch of
rock and putting down dirt and sod.
But because our doors and windows go all the way down with glass, we
decided to put it through the wall which is stucco.
Don cutting the hole
Drilling through the stucco was harder than he thought it would be
Lots of layers
He had to change tools
I got busy picking up the rocks where the grass would go
Don ties up all these wires
I put down lots of good dirt
Went and got sod
Put the sod in
Watered it real well
Sammy checking out his new grass
Gave him a step
And a solar powered night light
His other door only had one flap. This one has two and he couldn't see through this one where he could on the other one.
He didn't like it but he is now going in and
out like a champ
So happy he now has a door on one side of the house.
Grass is growing in nicely
Now to get one on the other side eventually.
