Real Facts-Did your beer make the list?

15 Worst beers and 15 Best beers for your health:

WORST BEERS:

#15 Worst Beers: Stella Artois

Bringing up the rear of the "Worst Beers" list is Stella Artois. This is a quality beer. If your mantra is “quality over quantity”
then have just one of these; it's got 154 calories per glass!

#14 Worst Beers: Magic Hat #9

Bringing up the rear of the "Worst Beers" list is Magic Hat #9. Tipping in at 153 calories, Magic Hat tastes like apricots but is probably not quite as healthy for you as the fruit. One or two surely can't hurt though.

#13 Worst Beers: Bass Ale

Bass Ale is also borderline: drink two and you're consuming more calories than a jelly donut. The calorie count stands at 156 for this one.

#12 Worst Beers: Pilsner Urquell

This Czech beer is good for sipping, not guzzling. At 156 calories, the count is simply still too high to regularly reach for more than one.

#11 Worst Beers: Samuel Adams Boston Lager

If you love Samuel Adams but are worried about your waistline, you’re better off drinking this brand’s light variety. At 160 calories, you could save yourself some treadmill time.

#10 Worst Beers: George Killian's Irish Red

Thinking of chugging a sixer of this Irish brewed amber lager? Each serving holds 162 calories so maybe just have one and share the rest with friends.

#9 Worst Beers: Blue Moon Belgian White

The calorie-count isn’t the worst, but you could do better, if losing your beer belly is an issue. This bitter Belgian beer goes well with a wedge of lime and a dash of moderation.

#8 Worst Beers: Sierra Nevada Pale Ale

If this beer flows down your throat like water, save it for a special occasion when it’s okay to indulge. If you do drink more than you should, at least make sure you’re working those extra calories (175 in total per serving) off with some regular exercise.

#7 Worst Beers: Guinness Extra Stout

Guinness Extra Stout is quite high on the calorie scale, so why not opt for the black stuff on tap instead? Its 176 calories is a full 50 calories higher than the draught version of the greatest stuff on earth.

#6 Worst Beers: Michelob Honey Lager

The honey sweetens the beer but sours the carb count. At 178 calories, it might be wise to see what else is on tap to soften the calorie count.

5 Worst Beers: Redhook ESB

At 179 calories a pop, if you’re hooked on Redhook extra strong bitter, try to stick with just one. If the calorie count is a factor then you could do much better than downing a couple of these guys.

#4 Worst Beers: Budweiser American Ale

Forget about patriotism. If you’re looking to fight fat, pass on this
182 calorie American ale for one of Bud's lighter options.

#3 Worst Beers: Samuel Adams Winter Lager

Two of these bad boys and you’ll be consuming the calorie-equivalent of a small meal. 200 calories per serving and 5.8% alcochol. Meh.

#2 Worst Beers: Leinenkugel's Berry Weiss

For a 12-ounce serving, this Wisconsin brew packs 207 calories and carbs galore. At 4.7% alcohol content, it's all fat and no fun.

#1 Worst Beers: Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Ale

If you’re thinking about losing some weight, you should avoid this brew at any cost. The worst beer on the list at 330 calories, this particular beer is loaded with two to three times more calories than a glass of wine but with a 9.6% alcohol content, who's going to be able to count those calories?

BEST BEERS:

#15 Best Beers: Miller High Life

At number 15 on the "Best Beers" list is Miller High Life. Living the High Life can be good for you as long as you don't have one too many. At 143 calories, it's not the worst offender.

#14 Best Beers: Beck's

Old reliable Becks is Crisp, clean, and smooth. 143 calories. Enough said.

#13 Best Beers: Yuengling Lager

This beer is a favorite in Eastern Pennsylvania, where it’s brewed. At 142 calories, it's a refreshing option.

#12 Best Beers: Rolling Rock Premium

#11 Best Beers: Guinness Draught

A delightful surprise. The great taste of Guinness but with a 126 calorie-count in the range of a light beer.

#10 Best Beers: Sam Adams Light

Think of it as a good beer's thinner brother. At 119 calories, it will be a lot kinder to your exercise regime too.

Bud Light. 110 calories. 7 g carbohydrates. It's a good all a-rounder.

#8 Best Beers: Coors Light

#7 Best Beers: Budweiser Select

Select this 99 calorie beer if you're a Bud fan, but want a brew that’s lighter in calories than both the original and Bud Light.

#6 Best Beers: Yuengling Lager Light

Goes down SO smooth at 99 calories per serving. That's 43 percent fewer calories than regular Yuengling Lager.

Every bar has Miller Lite on tap for a reason: It's 93 calories and still 4.2% alcohol content. When in doubt, here's your order.

#4 Best Beers: Amstel Light

No frills here. Just 95 calories and a good beer that won’t fill you out.

#3 Best Beers: Michelob Ultra

#2 Best Beers: Beck's Premier Light

Even though it’s one of the lowest calorie beers on the market, it has nearly as much alcohol as its competitors. At 64 calories and 3.8% alcohol it's a fantastic choice.

#1 Best Beers: MGD 64

It’s only 64 calories and it claims the number one spot over Beck’s Premier Light because it’s a little lower in alcohol content. Sensible in every way.

Is your beer on the list? If so, what number is it and which list is it on?

Mine is number 5 on the best beers list. Not too bad! :)
