It's a Sad Day at the Jaggers House
My daughter has been breeding her cats
and has had some beautiful litters
But lately, things have
taken an ugly turn.
This last time when Gabby went to have her kittens, one was very large and turned sideways. She had to have an emergency C-Section. Then a couple weeks after that she got really sick and had to rushed to the vet.
She was put on an IV drip and lots of antibiotics, blood work etc.
Needless to say, they had a large vet bill. But they weren't thinking about the bill. They were so concerned for their Gabby. She stayed for
a few days at the vets and she is at home now and doing well.
In the meantime Willow is pregnant and everyone is excited as this is her first litter.
The other morning Kisha woke to a dead baby kitten on the bathroom floor. She checked Willow and she looked and acted fine. Kisha was baffled.
Then later Willow had another dead kitten,
THEN
she had one that was born alive.
Kisha couldn't get it to eat from mama, so she
headed out and got all the stuff to hand feed this baby.
It seemed to be doing fine, and the next day, the baby was with Willow and Kisha thinks she laid on it and suffocated it.
Everyone was upset,
especially Brittany.
Then Willow gave birth to yet another dead kitten.
WOW!!!
Last night Kisha called me. Willow was not looking good. We were up most all night trying to figure out the best thing to do for her. Kisha called the 24 hour vet to see what she should do. And she asked the cost. He quoted her $1300.00 for starters. That didn't include
her ex-rays, IV drips, medicine and the list goes on and on. Vet bills in the middle of the night are outrageous.
Kisha was beside herself, what to do. She loves her cats so much, but to end up with a 2 or 3 thousand dollar vet bill right now was just
to much.
They are moving also, this weekend and that's always expensive.
So, we decided the best thing to do was wait and take her to the vet this morning and be there as soon as they opened.
Which she did.
Willow is going to have to have surgery but they may lose her during it. Without surgery, she may die. Want a decision to have
to make for something you love so much.
Kisha has decided this is just to much on her cats, her family and her.
She is going to close her cattery.
My heart is breaking for her today.
I know how much she loved doing this.
I am so sorry Kisha. I love you.
Get well soon Willow and hurry home.
Your family is waiting for you.
xoxo
