Cheap Security!

This is a great way to add added security to your home. We have ADT but wanted something for when we didn't want the alarm system all the way on.

THESE WORK GREAT!!!!

For under $80.00 I have every door area in the house covered. The nice thing about the two larger ones, (see video at bottom),  is you can move these around. We have a "Man Cave" upstairs in the back and you can't hear anything in the house. I put one on the steps, and another in the hallway upstairs. I now can sit up their with my 9 mm  and be very comfortable that I would know if anyone were to try to come up. The best thing about these two larger ones, is you can't get close enough to them to turn them off before they sound. I love these.

**I did try the ones at Lowe's first by GE, but they were not reliable enough for me. They were not very loud and didn't go off EVERY TIME I stepped in front of them . These go off EVERY TIME.  I got these from Home Depot. They are called Doberman Security.

** The larger ones take a 9 volt battery, not included.  The ones for the doors come ready to turn on. Batteries included.

Let me know if you have used these and how you like them. Or if you decide to try these, let me know how you like them.

This salad is one of the best salads I have had in a long time. I did use pine nuts instead of walnuts but either would be great. I am not a

It Survived!!!

IT HAS SURVIVED!!!

My bamboo that I planted days before the first deep freeze has survived ALL the freezes of this nasty winter we had here in Texas.

It's a little yellow and a little dry but still most of it is still green. Woo- Hoo!!  It is doing great.

So today I decided to help it along by fertilizing it with

Since Bamboo is in the grass family, this makes sense to me.  It's also Kid and Pet Friendly. A big plus.

I sprinkled about 3/4 of a cup around each plant

Then I watered it really well

I cut off the stalks that were leaning out to far.

Now I will sit back and watch it grow. Can't wait for it to take off.

My Tribute to Noah

My beloved Noah, I hope your crossing over the rainbow bridge was filled with light, love and new adventures. I feel blessed to have been with you holding you, as you crossed over. My hopes and wishes are that you are free from pain and flying around being your comical little self everywhere you go. I believe with you at the

Holiday Diet Soup
This soup is not only tasty but is also good for you. And any soup that can help lose weight, I'm all for. I have made this a couple other times and it does seem to work. I like that I don't get hungry right before dinner, (which I usually do). This

How To Remove Wine Bottle Labels to Replace With Your Own!

***I thought I had this already on the blog. Sorry it is so late. Maybe you can do it for next year or any other special occasion you may have.

How to replace wine bottle labels with your own personalized labels

This is the wine that we are going to re-label with our labels

Start with OXI Clean. Put about a 1/4 to 1/2 cup into a
sink of very warm water.

Swish it around to get the Oxi Clean working

Soak your bottles lying down or standing up for about an hour.
I actually left my in the water all night. Next morning they peeled
right off.

Then check to see if your labels will just peel off very easy

Once your labels are off

you can use an sos pad to remove the glue easily

Then rinse your wine bottles well

Dry and they are ready for the new labels.

Go online and find your labels you want.
They are free which is really nice.
Design it anyway you want.

These are ours for this year.

Love them!

Enjoy! Easy to do!
