Ellen , Fox News and Laci

As you know, my daughter Laci Carnes

is leaving to go to Ireland for 10 months to do her internship with IJM(International Justice Mission) to help combat a very evil crime called Human Trafficking.

We have been doing fundraisers to try and help raise the money since it is 100% unfunded.

This last idea of mine was to send Ellen Degeneres

as many heartfelt letters about Laci from her family and friends who believed in what she was doing. I wanted the letters are to be with within a certain amount of hours and then send them all about the same time, hoping she would take notice of someone so deserving of her attention and sponsorship.

So we have been very busy with writing our letters to Ellen Degeneres

. We even had people that doesn't know her at all, but read her story, and believed in what she is doing, and wrote beautiful letters to Ellen for her. We did make our goal! In fact, we exceeded our goal  and their are still letters straying in that people didn't have a chance to write but still wanted to get in on what we are doing. So they are still writing.

Huge thank you to all who took the time to write, and who are still writing Ellen for Laci about such an important event.

Now we wait and see if Ellen notices. Hopefully Laci will be doing a happy dance with Ellen. :)

Fox News has noticed -

They are calling Laci a Hometown Hero. Click the link to see the interview.

Her next fundraiser is this Sunday, in Ybor City at Level III.

It starts at 8 pm. It is her farewell party

combined with her fundraiser. It will be a lot of fun. If you are in the area, stop in. She would love to see you.

She leaves for Washington

on Sunday, September 8th for a week of training before she flies to Ireland. She leaves Washington on Monday, September 16th to fly to Ireland.

I will be there to see her off. I will worry about her the whole time she is gone, but I know this is where her heart is. I also am planning a trip to go see her in Belfast.

If you didn't get a chance to read her story and would like to, here's the link. Just click under her photo on the right and it will open up her story.

Laci wants to see Human Trafficking completely abolished in her lifetime. Her dream also is to open up homes for the rescued victims of Human Trafficking.

Please keep Laci in your prayers.

She has come a long way with this dream, But she still has a very long way to go.

xoxo
