Please help support Newtown!
WE ALL CAN HELP!!
“We understand that there is an outpouring of support for everyone in the Newtown area and we hope to make it easier for those who wish to send encouragement and messages of compassion to those affected,” Kimberly J. Peters, Connecticut Valley District Manager for the U.S. Postal Service, said in a statement. “Through letters and cards, families will be able to hold that friendship in their hands and to read those kind words at a time and place that supports their pace of healing.”

Run. Hide. Fight. Surviving an Active Shooter Event
Run, Hide, Fight: Houston Makes Workplace Shooting Survival Video
HOUSTON — The City of Houston has released a video designed to teach people how to react during a workplace shooting by emphasizing a three-word mantra: run, hide, fight.
The video was funded with $200,000 in federal grants and released following last month's movie theater shooting in Colorado.
Houston Homeland Security official Richard Retz says the theater shooting convinced city officials to release the video early, though they still plan to make it part of a wider safety campaign.
In the video, ominous music plays before a narrator warns that life can occasionally feel "more like an action movie than reality." Then, a man opens fire in an office building.
The video has been viewed more than 220,000 on YouTube. Retz says hundreds of cities and agencies have asked to use it.
Taking our guns is not the answer!!
In today's world, we need to be able to keep ourselves safe.
Taking away our guns is not the answer.
If a sick or evil human being wants to destroy lives,
they will find a way, with or without guns.
Morgan Freeman's take on Newtown shooting!
TURN OFF THE NEWS.......
Morgan Freeman's brilliant take on what happened yesterday :
"You want to know why. This may sound cynical, but here's why.
It's because of the way the media reports it. Flip on the news and watch how we treat the Batman theater shooter and the Oregon mall shooter like celebrities. Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris are household names, but do you know the name of a single *victim* of Columbine? Disturbed
people who would otherwise just off themselves in their basements see the news and want to top it by doing something worse, and going out in a memorable way. Why a grade school? Why children? Because he'll be remembered as a horrible monster, instead of a sad nobody.
CNN's article says that if the body count "holds up", this will rank as the second deadliest shooting behind Virginia Tech, as if statistics somehow make one shooting worse than another. Then they post a video interview of third-graders for all the details of what they saw and heard while the shootings were happening. Fox News has plastered the killer's face on all their reports for hours. Any articles or news stories yet that focus on the victims and ignore the killer's identity? None that I've seen yet. Because they don't sell. So congratulations, sensationalist media, you've just lit the fire for someone to top this and knock off a day care center or a maternity ward next.
You can help by forgetting you ever read this man's name, and remembering the name of at least one victim. You can help by donating to mental health research instead of pointing to gun control as the problem. You can help by turning off the news."
Tues Dec 18-Blogger day of silence!!
I cannot believe someone would take out such hostility on other people, let alone a group of children.

Constant Reminders!!
A friend had this written on their facebook, it brought me to tears:
What do you do for these parents now?
In a few days they have presents that can never be opened. There is another room in the house that can't be slept in, car seats, magnets, drawings, TV shows, smells and their little shoes right by the door as u leave.
With all this being said its just a constant reminder of what they had, and now have to exist without.
Now in a matter of hours in a sense they have to collect the fragments of their broken souls to buy a tombstone to purchase with meaningless money, a casket, that is smaller than your Christmas tree, and in return have the lasting image of your kid going on the bus, that's never coming back .......
Words can't explain how sad I am for the families of Connecticut, and how angry I am at how evil/demented our society has become!
May all the victims RIP!!

Fill in the blank Friday!!
When it comes to holiday shopping,
I try to have mine finished long before the holidays roll around.
A few things on my Christmas wish list are
A new MacBook Pro in Pink (which I have already received), also to be able to spent Christmas with my girls, which is going to happen.
An intangible gift I would like to receive is
a day to do nothing and stay in my pj's all day
A gift I would like to give this year is
a new home paid in full for all of our girls. :) Come on Lottery numbers!!
My Christmas will be spent
at my daughters house, and at my house. We are having Christmas twice so we can see everyone.
My most favorite Christmas gift of all time was
a metal dollhouse I got when I was 6 or 7 years old.
The best thing about the holidays is
being around family and friends, enjoying all the lights and music.

Feeling crappy!!
Woke up feeling like crap today. Feeling a little better tonight but not much. Hopefully by morning I will feel much better.
I have been in constant prayer today for the family and friends of all the victims in Newtown Ct. My heart is just breaking for those people who have lost their babies and loved ones. I can't even imagine losing one of my children or grandchildren. So all I can do is pray for them, so that is what I am doing.
