Here is all the painting I did-
Ceiling, crown molding, baseboards, walls, doggie door, window sills, and clock.

I am getting ready to start on my kitchen cabinets. They are going to be the same color as the ceiling and crown molding. I will put the results of them in Part 2

First thing I did was tape off for the ceiling to be painted. Don removed all

New Wood Floors!

We have been wanting to get rid of the carpet upstairs and put in wood floors. We are now doing that this week. I am so excited to finally be getting them.

Don was going to do the steps himself because they wanted as much to do them as they wanted to do

Huge DIY Project!!

Don and I are getting ready to really make a big mess. We are going to facelift the kitchen-living room area. We are going to paint walls, ceiling, baseboard, cabinets, add curtains and a few other small things.

And the best part -
We are going to do it all ourselves.

I have wanted to change the kitchen cabinets

and the color of the walls for quite sometime now. We have decided to get it going.  Don is going to remove all the stuff off the ceiling for me before I paint. Thank you baby!

I am going to do all of the painting and Don will do all of the caulking and prepping the back door and the pantry door.

I have a plug at one end of the island but I really want one at the other end also.

Don is going to put that in for me.

I couldn't decide on the colors but I now have them. The walls are going to be a light green

with a little darker accent wall.

The ceiling will be the same white as the cabinets. Right now its more yellow.

The cabinets are going to be a slightly off white color. Right now they are pickled and I am so over these.

Will also be painting the cabinets in the living room at the same time.

I am not going to pickle or stain these cabinets. I am going to paint them.

May paint the island a different color than the cabinets. Not sure yet. Let me know if you think I should or not.

I also am thinking about painting that large brown and gold clock on the wall.

I am going to add hardware to the cabinets. Not sure what just yet.

I think I am going to have the stools upholstered.

Also going to add some curtains. This is the material and colors of them.

I found these first and took my two colors from this.

Should look like a different room by the time it is finished.

If you have any ideas or thoughts, please let me know.

Bamboo Growth Spurt!! WOW!

I thought my bamboo had really slowed down so I fertilized it again ,  (I fertilized it once last year and it really took off)and waited. I used out of the same bag I had from last year. Nothing seemed to be happening. Don thought maybe the bag had gone bad so I got a new bag  and fertilized it again. At the time we left on our vacation, I was a little disappointed that  it happened taken off again .

WOW!!!

When we got back from our two week vacation, I was shocked. My blue bamboo grew to a shocking height while we were gone. Don thinks the tree is 25 to 30 feet tall and my bamboo is almost at the top of it.

I am amazed by all the new growth. We will have complete privacy by next summer. You will never know there are 3 houses on the other side of this. That was the reason I planted this bamboo in the first place.

Here is what it looked liked when I first planted the bamboo.  Loved the house but not the lack of privacy in our pool area. Needed something that would grow really tall so I chose bamboo. Not only does it get really tall, but it also grows extremely fast. Love it!

The center where there isn't anything is where I planted my blue bamboo. My bird Noah is buried there and needed something extra special to go in

there. Blue bamboo is the fastest growing bamboo there is. Noah would approve of its height. He always wanted to be at the very top of anything he was on. I miss him so much.

Can't wait until next summer too see where this is at by then.
